Merry Christmas 1914 is a roleplaying game for two players which takes place during the Christmas Truce of 1914 on the western front of the First World War, when, for a day, enemy soldiers socialised. Over the course of a game, you will live a moment of human fellowship in inhuman circumstances.
You will need two six-sided dice per person and each playbook ready. Expect a game to last approximatively two hours.
The players portray a French soldier and a German soldier caught in the death machine but who can nevertheless live an extraordinary moment.
It's not a feel good game. It's only the opportunity for a pause in the deadly madness, madness which will only continue to grow. Your characters don't know it but it's only the beginning of what they will later call "the war to end all wars" but that we know by the sad name of the First World War.
This game is also a way to remember and commemorate the life of these ordinary men crushed by the war machine from which none will emerge unscathed.
Merry Christmas 1914 is inspired by Apocalypse World from Vincent and Meguey Baker.
