However, many ghosts won't leave quietly, and the firm behind Pöltr will do whatever it can to avoid paying out. You are one of those users. Joining the platform to earn enough to cover this month's rent, no matter the risks. Will you be able to scrape together the cash, or will the spirits subject you to an even worse fate? Pöltr is a solo journaling game about being a freelance ghost buster trapped in the gig economy. Each round, you'll use a deck of cards to create a new location before exploring it, trying to track down the ghost that haunts the area. While you do this, you'll need to manage your resistance and cash reserves. If your resistance drops too low, the wandering spirits will attack, forcing you to flee the job, forgoing your pay as you do. But if you run out of cash, you won't be able to keep on top of your bills. When you locate the restless spirit, you must banish it before it can attack you. In Pöltr, you banish ghosts by cleaning a dry-erase board or digital canvas as fast as possible, leading to a pulse-pounding race against the clock as the specter slowly drains your resistance.
