Alone in the Loop

Alone in the Loop is a solo journaling game about the isolation, hope, and despair of a time traveler caught in a loop. It's inspired by the tragic time loop sequences from two particular 2011 anime. First, you'll determine the basic premise and setting of your time loop, choosing or drawing cards and answering questions. Is it a fantasy world where a mysterious deity turns back the clock each time you fail? Is it a modern day setting where a mysterious device has fallen into your hands? Then you'll determine the duration of the loop, which affects the pacing and action of the story. After that, you'll pick up the story some time after your first loop, when your character already knows how the loop works. You'll play out loops, making discoveries and enduring trials, and when you feel ready, you'll play one final loop and determine your ending.
