Decomposer is a one-page GM-less worldbuilding game. Players take on the role of microorganisms, plants, worms, or other decomposers, and slowly consume the remains of a dead god using a dice-pool mechanic. When a die in your pool matches the number of a die in the creature's pool, you can eat that piece of the great beast, bringing it into your stomach for digestion. Every time you eat a part of the deity's corpse, you add it to a shared drawing. Once digested, this creature’s remains form the foundation of a new world, ready to be explored.
It's inspired by Norse and Mesopotamian creation myths, and games like The Quiet Year. It’s a meditation on how we live on after we die. You can play it in one session of about 2 hours, solo or up to 6 players. You can use it to develop the setting of another game or adventure.
