Once upon a time, the world teemed with adventurers, travellers, merchants, and the roving gangs of bandits who sought to take advantage of them and their goods—and gold-laden packs. But the world is not like it once was.

Among the Last Bandits is a solo journalling game where you take on the role of a bandit captain leading a small gang of bandits with chequered pasts through the barren lands of a premodern world ravaged by the Wrath of a Sun God. To play, you need one six-sided die, a standard deck of playing cards, and a means of recording your story.

It has been two decades since the Wrath began. There are many threats to your continued success as a bandit, and this career is not the field that it once was. You spend many days wandering with your gang. You often have to supplement your income with other, less unsavory sources, and you can go a long time without finding any suitable targets. With so few prospects, such high risk, and often very little reward, it is a struggle to keep going. But you’re not like other bandit captains. You’re not a quitter!
