Summary

An exploration of identity and the people who help you discover it

Full Description

Year of Queer Is a solo journaling TTRPG, Where you play a character exploring their sexual and / or gender identity through the span of one year. It's July, standing at your local pride event with your friend, you say 'I'm so proud of you for coming out'. One year later, you stand with them in the exact same spot as they say the same thing to you. What happens in between is yet to be written. Squint and watch a blur of colours move in front of you. Open your eyes and see the slow-moving, ecstatic face of your friend. In the background, there's the roar of the crowd. Jump forward to long conversations on deserted swings; your hands sticky as you reach for someone you like; listen to a band and know they could be singing just to you. There are moments of uncertainty, of shyness, quiet crushes and huge, inconsequential, dramatic soliloquies. You live a year and watch yourself grow from someone who always feels slightly out of place to an authentic, actualised person. There's still so much to learn, so much to do. But you've started, and you're never going to stop being yourself.  Year of Queer has been designed and written by InnocentGoblin and Clara Godwin-Suttie. This game uses the Crafted in a Shell SRD which was inspired by Everyone Deserves Shelter, a game originally designed for the TTRPGs For Human Rights' Justice Jam 2022. This game was made during the Crafted in a Shell SRD Game Jam alongside other amazing games and phenomenal designers. Other games made during this jam included An Unabridged History of A Doomed Relationship and Be Still, Archivist.
